RIDING LESSONS! RIDING LESSONS!!

We were bicycling on our rental bikes the other day here in southern Thailand when lo and behold we saw a sign that said: Khao Lak Horse Club 2.5 km. A determined swerve off the main road followed, and we rode inland to see what we would find.

And there it was, a lovely stable of eight horses, beautifully set into a sloping site. The owner, Ju, told us that he completely changed his life after the 2004 tsunami (where he lost his son), and is now only doing things that he truly loves. He used to have a company of construction materials, but no more - his heart is with the horses, and it shows.

Lili got a private class today and we are hoping to get a couple more! She learned a lot of technique and was trotting on her own very nicely by the end of the lesson.
