We got to see a wonderful old tree yesterday, a 900 year old gingko. It is in Nagi on a big hill where there is also a temple - a really beautiful place. Our host Toshi-San told us how he often came to this place ever since his childhood - to see the tree and to climb the mountain on which it grows. And then when his son was born he named him Naoki which means 'mountain, friend of tree'.
We spent a long time at the park, we rang a big bell, enjoyed the sculptures and Lili even found some kittens to cuddle! And we picked up a few leaves from this very special tree from the ground.
