MAKING TSUKIMI DANGO

This post shows the making of our Tsukimi Dango, the moon viewing rice dumpling cakes.

 

First, mix rice flour with water, and boil a big pot of water.

Then make little balls of the rice dough with your hands.

Have an assistant tie your kimono sleeves back so they don't get messy. Have other assistant start cooking dango balls by dumping them into boiling water.

Put some bean flower in a bowl. Mix in some sugar.

Cooked balls at left, raw ones on the blue plate, sugar and bean powder.
